COMPLANT Chairman Liu Xueyi led a COMPLANT Ltd work team to pay a friendly visit to Colombia and Cuba from July 17 to July 26, 2014.

During the meeting with the President of Colombia’s National Infrastructure Agency on July 17, Chairman Liu expressed the Company’s keenness to engage in Colombia’s infrastructure development so as to contribute to the economic and social development of Colombia. The President appreciated Chairman Liu’s remark and expressed on behalf of the Government of Colombia their willingness to cooperate with COMPLANT in infrastructure development, especially the construction of ports and railways.

While in Colombia, Chairman Liu inspected the Port Brisa project and the Bogota Railway Rehabilitation project. He also paid an official call to the Chinese Ambassador in Colombia and showed appreciation to the Embassy and its Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s office for their guidance, assistance and support.

The delegation’s visit to Cuba coincided with Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Cuba. Since COMPLANT is an important partner of Cuba, Chairman Liu was invited to participate in relevant activities. When attending the meeting between the delegation led by President Xi and representatives from various sectors, Chairman Liu listened to the presentation on President Xi’s visit to the three Latin-American countries. He was also invited to attend the China-Cuba Joint Ballet Performance held by Cuban President Raul Castro in welcoming President Xi.

From July 22 to July 24, Chairman Liu held talks with officials from Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Culture, Cuba Light Industry Corporation, Cuba Electronic Corporation and Cuba Medical Corporation respectively, signed several framework agreements regarding various projects, and reached broad consensus with them on many issues.
