The China-funded Senegal National Grand Theater was officially handed over to Senegal in the theater on April 15th, 2011. Ambassador of China’s Embassy in Senegal Gong Yuanxing and Minister of Ministry of Foreign and State Affairs of Senegal signed the Handover Certificate on behalf of Chinese government and Senegalese government respectively. Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of National People’s Congress Chen Zhili who was on a visit handed over the golden key representating the completion of the project to Senegal’s President Abdoulaye Wade and jointly cut the ribbon for the inauguration of the theater.
